Some people use it only for kitchen drinking water while relying on other treatment methods for the rest of the home. That combination can make practical sense.

Drinking water gets the most attention, but the water running through the rest of the house matters as well. Showers, washing machines, dishwashers, water heaters, and plumbing all deal with water every day.
